Inge Glass has been creating their custom hand-blown Christmas ornaments since the 1500s. Each glass ornament is masterfully designed, mouth-blown and hand-painted by skilled artisans. Inge-Glas Ornaments are created in limited quantities, and they are sure to be heirlooms you will treasure for many generations! Inge Glas Ornaments make great gifts and family heirlooms.
The largest antique glassblower mould collection in the world has been assembled by the family Müller-Blech. Comprised of around 15,000 moulds from the last two centuries, it is truly an outstanding treasure for the Inge-Glas® Manufaktur. Many of these moulds are used in their production today.
Nearly all of the moulds are from Lauscha in Thuringia, the homeland of the company founder Heinz Müller-Blech. Most of the collection has always been owned by the family as they accumulated moulds over time and passed their treasures on to their children and grandchildren. Glassblowers hand producing mouth blown Christmas ornaments are few and far between in southern Thuringia and northern Bavaria, today. All the more important to preserve the large mould collection and the traditional craft.
Every ornament hand produced by Inge-Glas® Manufaktur today is a true piece of valuable German heritage and craftsmanship which people enjoy today as much as in the past. The preserved and protected moulds are highly treasured by the family Mueller-Blech for generations to come.
